Why social outings?
Dogs are social animals by nature and nothing is healthier for them physically and emotionally than exercising and interacting with other dogs and people. The bonds they form with other dogs can help them become even better pets at home and correct any behavior issues they may have.
Off-leash outings vs. indoor day care facilities:
Dogs instinctively want to romp outdoors and are much happier having scheduled outings rather than daylong stays at an indoor facility. In addition, dogs are inclined to a hierarchy within their packs and when they are introduced to large groups and different dogs each day, more insecurity and aggressive behavior can develop. The small, supervised off-leash groups form a wellestablished pack where each dog becomes comfortable in their position within the pack which, in turn, provides the dog with more stability and a happier experience!

What would a normal day be like for my dog?
Your dog will be picked up upon your request for either a morning or an afternoon trip for off-leash park swimming and romping adventures. Trips last approximately 3 hours, including pick up and drop off time. Dogs are leashed at all times until they are safely inside the confines of the off-leash area. Once inside, they will be provided with play toys, treats and lots and lots of love and attention. We have a really great time out there! Your dog will be able to bring his or her own favorite toy (provided there are no possession issues) or toys can be provided. Any dietary restrictions and issues will be followed to in terms of treats.
What are the requirements for my dog to join?
Jan will conduct a free consultation at your home. During this meeting, Jan will evaluate your dog’s behavior and health history to make sure your dog is suitable for off-leash adventures. Dogs must be fully trained to come on command and have no history of aggression issues. The dogs are required to be up to date on all shots as well as having the Bordatella vaccine updated regularly. Dogs must also have and wear a current pet license and ID tag at all times.

Do the dogs ever NOT get along?
Many dogs have confrontations with one another in their lives. In 8 years, none of Jan’s dogs have gotten into a confrontation with one another. How another owner’s dog may act at the park can be a concern for the group, however, Jan’s considerable training and experience enables her to read problematic dog behavior and body language before an actual confrontation occurs. Jan successfully has been able to diffuse any situations before they arise. The dogs enjoy the safety of having a confident pack leader looking out for them and they often stay close knowing they are well supervised
